Accountant
Summary:
The Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of CATCH. This position is responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting the organization’s mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Process invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements.
- Prepare and process checks.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure timely payments.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Record and deposit donations, grants, and other income.
- Generate and send invoices.
- Track and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- General Ledger:
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
- Generate reports for management, board of directors, and funders.
- Assist with the annual audit and preparation of Form 990.
- Grant Accounting:
- Track grant revenues and expenses.
- Prepare financial reports for grantors.
- Ensure compliance with grant agreements.
- Budgeting:
- Assist with the development and monitoring of the annual budget.
- Track budget variances and provide analysis.
- Other:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with grant accounting and reporting.
